Los Descontrolados - s/t (1988)

Los Descontrolados was one of the first (if not the first) punk bands in Ecuador. They started in 1987 and did two records before being obliged to stop, because of the murder of their charismatic singer. Although they did not live for a long time and didn't make many records, many people in Ecuador consider them as one of the best bands of the country.

Here we have their self-titled 12'' from 1988, re-released as a 7'' on a strictly limited edition of 500 copies.

Ξεχασμένη Προφητεία (Forgotten Prophecy) / Mushroom Attack - Split LP

Ξεχασμένη Προφητεία (Forgotten Prophecy) were formed in 1989 in Athens, Greece. Members of the band also played in Χαοτικό Τέλος (Chaotic End), Ναυτία (Nausea), Χαοτική Απειλή (Chaotic Threat) and more. Their music was dark, crusty hardcore/punk.

Mushroom Attack were a hardcore/punk band from Holland and they were active between 1989-1992. Later, three members of the band formed Fleas And Lice.

Here we have the split LP of Forgotten Prophecy and Mushroom Attack that was released in 1990.

Ναυτία - Ευρωπαϊκή Αναγέννηση

Ναυτία (Nausea) were formed in 1988 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The same year they recorded a demo tape and toured Europe with Chaos UK. They were playing hardcore/punk with male/female vocals.

Very important band for the greek anarcho-punk scene. Τhey disbanded in 1993.

Here we have their self-released LP from 1992 called "Ευρωπαϊκή Αναγέννηση" (European Renaissance).

Aceh Punks Arrested for "Re-education"

Police gather a group of detained Indonesian punks at a police school in Aceh Besar in Aceh province, Indonesia. Sharia police are "morally rehabilitating" 64 young punks, saying the youths tarnish the province's staunch Islamic image.

After being arrested at a punk rock concert in the provincial capital Banda Aceh Saturday night, that was organized on the 11th of December 2011 in order to raise money for orphans, 59 male and 5 female punks forced to have their hair cut, bath in a lake, change clothes and pray.

The only reason for them to be victim of that totally arbitrary state repression was that they are punks. The police shaved their hair off and removed their piercings, their clothes were taken away from them, replaced by “decent” ones and they were forced to wash themselves in a “religious ritual”. Then they were brainwashed and “re-educated” for 10 days through “religious education” and “military discipline”.

Against this outrageous police action, solidarity actions and demonstration took place in Moscow, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, China and Malaysia.
